About Atelier M
Founded by Marit Aurin
Atelier M is a children’s movement education service grounded in strong technical foundations, creativity, and joyful exploration.
Atelier M was founded by Marit Aurin, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Chapman University, dancer, and children’s movement educator with a deep love for teaching. Its mission reflects her passion for working with children and helping them build positive, confident relationships with movement. Marit’s approach is shaped by over a decade of classical ballet training at the Joffrey Ballet Academy in Chicago (now Grainger Academy), along with additional study in France.
With several years of experience teaching movement to toddlers through elementary-aged children, Marit has developed a teaching style that balances structure with play, technique with imagination, and discipline with encouragement. Atelier M has partnered with families, preschools and elementary schools, parks and recreation departments, and museums across Los Angeles County!
At the heart of Atelier M is the belief that children should feel supported, inspired, and excited to move.
